Why are there no email addresses on Gemstone Auction?
Your privacy is very important to us. We have set up Gemstone Auction so people cannot easily get your email
address to spam mail you. The only way a user can get another users email address is through a User
Request. We log all User Requests.
How can I contact other users?
The user names are a clickable link and will bring up an email window for you to use.
If for some reason you need an email address you will need to run a User Request. This may only be used in
connection with the auction and improper use will result in immediate suspension.
How do I place a bid in a Regular Auction?
You must be a registered user. Go to the item page you wish to bid on. Place your user name and password into the appropriate box.
Place the maximum amount your willing to pay for the item in the bid box. The computer holds this
bid secret and bids for you against anyone who bids. The price only goes up if it is bid against.
Fast, easy, and you don't have to watch your bids.
You can also place the lowest acceptable bid. Either way you will receive all outbid notices with any bid placed.
What does the (fbk) mean by the bidders names?
The (fbk) stands for feedback. This is a link to their feedback file.
What does the D mean on the listing pages?
The D denotes a dutch auction. Multiple items available.
How do I place a bid in a Dutch Auction?
Dutch Auctions work a little different than regular auctions. You can bid on more than one identical
item at a given price. You can not use reserve auctions on dutch auctions. It's best to bid
the minimum amount. Make sure you put in the number of items you wish to bid on. The price only goes up if all the items available are bid on. A dutch auction is
one of the best ways to buy an item without getting into a bidding war.
I placed a bid and it was accepted, but it said my bid was not high enough to win the item. Please explain.
Someone has a reserve bid which is higher than the amount you bid. You may either bid again and
try to outbid the existing reserve bid or go on to another item.
I'm a registered user, but when I try to place a bid it say's user or password not found. Please explain.
Your user name and Password are case sensitive. Make sure you have it typed correctly with no spaces.
How do I view the items I have bids on?
You can search all your items from the Search page. Just type in your user name and click exact match and it will bring
up all the items you have bids on that haven't ended. Works the same for sellers to!!
I have bids on auctions that have ended. How do I view them?
Use the Closed Auction Search link to view any auction that has ended. Make sure you change the
month to the month you wish to view.
The bid history looks like I have the highest bid. But the item page says someone else. Why?
Every bid shows, in the order of the bid. There is a reserve bid on the item which is
higher than your posted bid.(it is kept secret)
How can I find a certain item without having to look through all the listings?
Use the search and type in the item your looking for ie. tanzanite or whatever stone or item your looking for and the search
will bring up all the items, listed by all the sellers for easy viewing. Quick and Easy!!
